About us

At PLAN BEE, we believe that small actions can create lasting change for our pollinators, our planet, and our communities.

Founded by Kirsten Wendenburg in Dublin, PLAN BEE was born from a simple idea: to make it easier for people to protect Ireland's wild bees through creativity, learning, and connection. Over 30% of Ireland's wild bee species are now endangered due to habitat loss, starvation, and pesticides but with the right awareness and support, we can turn things around.

Each Bee Stone is handmade in Dublin using Irish clay, providing safe nesting spaces for solitary bees such as Mason, Leafcutter, and Yellow-Faced Bees. These gentle pollinators don't produce honey or live in hives instead, they work quietly in our gardens, parks, and meadows, playing a vital role in keeping ecosystems healthy.

Beyond creating nesting habitats, PLAN BEE runs educational workshops for schools, communities, and businesses to raise awareness and inspire real-world action for biodiversity. From hands-on crafting sessions to interactive talks, every workshop helps people reconnect with nature and understand how even the smallest space can become a bee haven.

Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. Materials are locally sourced, packaging is upcycled, and deliveries within Dublin are made by cargo bike because protecting bees starts with protecting the planet, too.

PLAN BEE is more than just a business. It's a movement to celebrate and safeguard the wild pollinators that keep Ireland blooming.
